March Installation News

Caterpillar - Bracknell

Caterpillar have moved in to a new office in Bracknell. The office, in line with current trend, has no traditional drop ceiling with all the services and structural soffit open.

A common issue with this trend is noise reflecting on the concrete and creating a disturbance.

The solution was reSorb acoustic ceiling islands. Various sizes and shapes were used to fit between the services and lights with the addition of coloured panels (Caterpillar Yellow) to enhance the aesthetic. The islands are installed in offices and meeting rooms as well as the open plan areas and canteen.

Mylan Dublin

As part of a refurbishment of their four office floors in the centre of Dublin, Mylan have incorporated sound masking to control noise and create speech privacy.

Initially the ground, first and fourth floors have been completed allowing the staff to continue delivering their excellent service in Healthcare. The sound masking system from US firm Lencore is the iNet system allowing for zoned control of the noise. Carefully tuned to ensure the sound is not intrusive but sufficient to reduce speech intelligibility to only a short distance allowing staff to collaborate but not distract colleagues further away.

Acoustics by Design worked with their Irish partners Walls To Workstations to deliver the installation and subsequent local support. The system will be connected to the Mylan network to allow authorised users to monitor the system.
