ReSorb Blades at Koplus London, Clerkenwell

Acoustics By Design have installed ReSorb Blades in the Koplus showroom in Clerkenwell.

Three sets of Blades are suspended below the hard reflective concrete ceiling to reduce the echo in the showroom, with a further set installed vertically mounted on the wall.

Chartered Institute of IT (BCS) New Headquarters, Swindon

Acoustics By Design were consulted early in the design process of the new HQ. The advice we gave was included in the final design of the two open plan collaborative floors and the meeting room suite.

Solutions included the Lencore Spectra iNet sound masking system, incorporating public address to allow for office-wide town hall meetings. ReSorb Walls were installed in all meeting rooms to control echo, and various ReSorb products such as Off The Grid, to reduce noise and distraction from breakout areas.

Look out for the case study to be published shortly.

City of London Police - Emergency Control Room

Following the successful acoustic treatment of the FCR at Bishopsgate Police Station last month, Acoustics By Design were asked to repeat the work in the ECR, a similar size room with similar function.

The feedback has been very positive from CoLP.  The installation was again timed for the least disruption to the service and the solution calculated to reduce noise whilst allowing for clear communication during an incident.

ReSorb Baffles were installed tight to the ceiling in a configuration to reduce sound travel over distance and retain good communication at shorter distances.

ReSorb Baffles are available to order online through our ReSorb site.

ReSorb Walls - Kinetic's Buckley Building

Replacing fabrics on our ReSorb Walls is a simple, cost-effective way to re-design, refresh and update the look of acoustic walls in your offices.

Insightful Environments Showroom, Clerkenwell

As part of I.E.’s recent showroom refurbishment, Acoustics By Design were asked to come in and advise on how the showroom’s acoustics could be improved.

To help control reverberation and sound reflection off the open plenum ceiling, ReSorb Blades were installed in one of the meeting areas which will help provide better sound quality during their meetings, plus also offering a great design feature in that area.

LiveRamp, London

Knotel asked Acoustics By Design to visit one of their customers, LiveRamp at their new offices in Holborn.

With 4 very well used meeting rooms, it is essential for LiveRamp staff that they function well, and communication via video conferencing is clear and acoustically comfortable.

Following reverberation tests, Acoustics By Design specified ReSorb Walls plus ReSorb Islands in the 4 rooms to achieve the recommended reverberation times, here’s how they looked after the work was done.

Emergency Control Room – London Police

The acoustics in control rooms is a fine balance between comfort and maintaining intelligibility. Taking the open plan office approach would likely reduce intelligibility during critical operations so initially half the recommended sound absorption has been installed, with an option to increase the quantity based on feedback.

The control room itself has a low concrete ceiling with exposed services. Vertical fabric covered ReSorb Baffles were installed tight to the ceiling in a configuration to reduce sound travel over distance whilst retaining good communication at shorter distances.

ReSorb Baffles are available to order online through our ReSorb site:

Sound Masking Project - Aimmune, London

Lencore sound masking has been installed to improve the speech privacy of six meeting rooms.

The naturally quiet floor in Paddington meant some conversations could be overheard in the next meeting room and the adjacent open plan office.

The sound masking is installed in the ceiling plenum above all the meeting rooms and around the perimeter of the rooms giving speech privacy to at least 3m from each room.

This is a quick and cost effective solution without major disruption to the office and staff.
